    Background & Challenge

    A roadside assistance service provider in China required a mobile EV charging solution capable of delivering emergency charging services for electric vehicles in urban and highway environments.

    The customer selected 5 units of 100kWh–90kW mobile energy storage charging stations and planned to install the systems directly inside service vans for rapid roadside deployment.

    The major challenge of the project was vehicle integration. The customer required the charging equipment to remain securely fixed inside the cargo area of the van while maintaining stability during long-distance driving, emergency braking, and uneven road conditions. At the same time, the charging interface and maintenance access needed to remain convenient for daily operation and servicing.

    The Solution

    Hefei KED Charging Technology Co., Ltd. provided 5 units of mobile energy storage EV charging systems and developed a customized in-vehicle installation solution based on the SAIC Maxus Van platform selected by the customer.

    To ensure safe and reliable onboard operation, KED engineered several custom structural modifications, including:

    • Customized shock-absorption and pressure-resistant mounting materials
    • Fixed installation structure designed specifically for the van cargo compartment
    • Reserved rear charging interface for convenient roadside charging access
    • Side maintenance access panel integrated into the vehicle layout
    • Internal equipment stabilization for transportation safety

    The engineering team optimized both the charger layout and service accessibility to ensure the mobile charging systems could operate efficiently in real roadside rescue scenarios.

    Results & Impact

    The project was successfully completed, and all 5 mobile charging units were integrated into the customer’s roadside assistance fleet.

    Key project achievements included:

    • Successful deployment of 100kWh–90kW mobile energy storage charging systems
    • Customized vehicle-mounted installation solution for SAIC Maxus vans
    • Improved operational stability during vehicle movement and emergency response
