200kWh–140kW Energy Storage Charging Solution for Solar Power Plant and EV Charging Operator in Germany

    Background & Challenge

A renewable energy company in Germany operating both solar power facilities and EV charging stations was looking for a more efficient way to utilize excess photovoltaic energy for EV charging applications.

The customer required a high-capacity 200kWh–140kW energy storage charging system that could integrate directly with their photovoltaic infrastructure. Their goal was to store solar-generated electricity during peak production periods and later use the stored energy to supply EV charging services for charging station customers.

The challenge was achieving seamless integration between the photovoltaic power generation system and the mobile energy storage charging equipment while maintaining stable charging performance and energy management efficiency.

    The Solution

Hefei KED Charging Technology Co., Ltd. provided a customized 200kWh–140kW energy storage EV charging solution tailored to the customer’s renewable energy operation model.

To meet the project requirements, KED customized the charging system with dedicated photovoltaic input interfaces, enabling direct connection between the solar power station and the energy storage charging equipment.

    The customized solution included:

    • Integrated photovoltaic input interface
    • Energy storage capability for excess solar-generated electricity
    • High-power 140kW DC charging output
    • Smart energy utilization between solar generation and EV charging demand
    • Commercial-grade energy storage charging platform

With this configuration, the customer could store surplus electricity generated by the photovoltaic station inside the energy storage charging system and later use the stored power to provide EV charging services for charging station users.

    Results & Impact

The project successfully combined renewable energy generation with EV charging infrastructure, helping the customer improve overall energy utilization efficiency.

    Key project achievements included:

    • Successful integration of photovoltaic energy storage and EV charging
    • Improved utilization of surplus solar-generated electricity
    • Reduced dependence on grid electricity during charging operations
    • Enhanced operational flexibility for the customer’s charging stations
    • Creation of a more sustainable and energy-efficient EV charging ecosystem

The customized solution helped the customer maximize the commercial value of their photovoltaic assets while expanding clean energy EV charging services in the German market.
